The meeting will examine the concept of parrêsia (truthful speech) in the late works of Michel Foucault, its connection with social criticism and the ethics of the subject; the possibility of applying the Foucauldian approach to the texts of Mark Fisher, in particular to his analysis of capitalist realism and the cultural logic of late capitalism; the relevance of parrêsia in modern political and intellectual practices, including the phenomenon of ego-documents and digital media
