Travel to Africa without leaving RUDN University How it happened
How it happened
It was hot at the university the other day—and not just because of the spring! We had a screening of Anna Benou's documentary, "Africa We May Lose."
We traveled to the continent with the director to see it without embellishment or stereotypes. The film was a true revelation for the audience:
We saw tribes where a spirit of unity reigns
We learned how a city changes the consciousness of its inhabitants
We experienced traditional songs and dances that are already on the verge of extinction.
The emotions after the screening were so strong that the audience stayed with the author for a long time, asking questions and sharing their impressions. The atmosphere in the hall was truly warm and intimate. Particularly touching were the comments from representatives of Rossotrudnichestvo and faculty who had been to Africa: they admitted that the film allowed them to "relive this amazing feeling."
The evening was truly vibrant: we not only watched the film but also discussed it, reminisced, and even participated in a quiz! The luckiest viewers received prizes.
Congratulations to the winners—students from the Federal State Educational Institution of Social Sciences and the Ecological Institute!
Thank you for joining us. The dialogue between cultures continues!
